Terms and Conditions

Conditions

  • No more than 6 people may stay in the holiday home. If this number is exceeded, the caretaker will deny access to Mhofu to the additional person

Mhofu is cleaned after departure. However, we do ask that you ensure the following points are in order when you leave Mhofu:

  • Leave Mhofu tidy, i.e. return all household items to their original positions

  • Any breakages, missing items or damage to the furnishings or the property must be reported immediately to Laurika by the tenant. Payment for this must be made to Laurika on the spot

  • Dirty crockery, cutlery and similar items must be washed

  • All windows and doors must be closed and locked

  • Use electricity sparingly. Switch off the air conditioning and fans when you leave Mhofu

  • The rubbish bins must be emptied and taken to the tip, unless an arrangement has been made with the caretaker

  • Always place a full bucket of water next to the barbecue when barbecuing; be mindful of the barbecue’s position and the wind. The barbecue must be left clean

  • Used bath towels must be placed in the laundry basket by the tenant.

The landlord is exempt from liability for compensation to the tenant in the event of death, injury, accident, loss, theft or damage to personal property or vehicles whilst the tenant is in or around the holiday home.

The landlords are not liable in the following cases:

  • Any disruption, alteration or impediment to the tenant’s stay resulting from unforeseen and/or insurmountable events

  • Inconvenience caused by construction work in the vicinity of the holiday home

  • Interruption to utilities (water and electricity)

  • Inconvenience caused by works carried out by third parties such as the local authority, the county council or central government.

Water is scarce in South Africa, so please use it wisely and bear this in mind.
